Women's Rowing Prepares for Textile Regatta

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College women's rowing team will open the 2010-11 season on Sunday, October 3 in the 31st annual Textile Regatta to be held on the Merrimack River in Lowell, Mass. Last year the regatta had over 2,600 competitors from 79 different clubs and expects a similar turnout for this year's competition, according to the website.
The Eagles will compete in three different races: the Club 8, the Women's Open 4, and the Women's Open 8.
The Club 8 boat will feature Jane Mieczkowski (coxswain), Emily Charnowski, Stephanie Setiz, Regina Hayburn, Victoria Goetz, Erica Jennings, Rachel Pettis, Sarah Loiselle, and India DuBois. The race is set to begin at 11:20 a.m.
At 12:50 p.m., the Women's Open 4 will begin. BC will place three entries in this race. Boat A will feature Brigid Morrissey (coxswain), Erin Flaherty, Erin Roche, Megan Carmody, Laura Petty. Boat B will have Jasmine Howard (coxswain), Kelly Williams, Chenny Zhang, Rachel Pettis, and Regina Hayburn. Boat C will be comprised of Allison Chase (coxswain), Sarah Loiselle, Victoria Goetz, Erica Jennings, and India DuBois.
They will also place one entry in the 2:50 p.m. Women's Open 8 with Brigid Morrissey (coxswain), Erin Flaherty, Erin Roche, Megan Carmody, Laura Petty, Emily Charnowski, Stephanie Seitz, Chenny Zhang, Kelly Williams.
