Women's Track Competes In Boston University Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. - The Boston College women's track put up another solid performance this weekend as they competed in the Boston University Invitational on January 29 and January 30. The Eagles captured two first place finishes, and 11 individual top-10 finishes on the day.
Freshman Grace Rodriguez kept her excellent rookie campaign going as she took first place in the 1000m run with a time of 2:52.51. Rodriguez's teammate junior Samantha Gawrych finished in third place in the event with a time of 2:53.32.
Junior Caroline King kept the momentum going for the Eagles as she continues to pile up the individual victories by winning the one mile run crossing the line at 4:50.80. Senior captain Gretchen Andrus grabbed a top-10 finish of her own finishing third in the event with a time of 4:55.05.
Sophomore Kelsey Huckins shined in the field events for Boston College taking home two top-10 finishes on the day. She finished in eighth in the shot put with a throw of 12.64m, and fifth place in the weight throw with an impressive toss of 16.69m.
Boston College will be back in action on February 5 as it will compete in the New Balance Invitational and the Yale Giegengack Invitational.
