
Men's Basketball Defeats Clemson, 75-69

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Sophomore Reggie Jackson scored 18 points, including six clutch free throws in the final minute, to lead Boston College to a 75-69 ACC win over Clemson before 6,238 fans in Conte Forum.
Jackson, who shot 10-for-10 from the foul line in the contest, also led the Eagles with seven assists.
Juniors Corey Raji (14 points) and Rakim Sanders (11 points - all in the first half) rounded out BC's list of double-figure scorers.
Boston College (12-9, 3-4 ACC) overcame a slow start to quickly assume control. Clemson (15-6, 3-4 ACC) led 8-3 four minutes into the game, before the host Eagles used a 19-2 run to gain a 22-10 lead with 8:52 left in the first half. In that rally, seven different BC players posted at least one point with Jackson and junior Joe Trapani leading the way with four points apiece.
BC carried the momentum further, extending the margin to as many as 19 points - 37-18 - with 2:51 to play in the first half. The Eagles finished the half with a 42-25 advantage.
The visiting Tigers began the second session with a 13-3 run to trim the BC margin to seven points - 45-38 - just four minutes into the half. Sophomore Dallas Elmore and junior Cortney Dunn answered with timely field goals to give BC a double-digit lead at 49-38.
BC extended the margin to 12 points (61-49) on a long three-pointer by senior Tyler Roche with 6:45 to play, but Clemson didn't quit.
The Tigers got to within six points - 66-60 - with 2:18 left and to within four points - 68-64 - with 44.7 seconds left.
Jackson sank six free throws and junior Biko Paris sank one free throw to secure the win.
Game Notes: Not to be overlooked in the victory was the stellar effort from the BC reserves. Four players - Jackson, Roche, Elmore and Dunn- combined for 35 points, 14 rebounds, 10 assists and 11 field goals. Dunn registered six points (all in the second half) and five rebounds in 27 minutes of action. Each of his numbers are season highs ... Elmore contributed five points and one assist in 19 minutes, while Roche posted six points (2-for-3 treys) and four rebounds in 17 minutes ... BC gained a 24-6 scoring edge from the foul line ... Both team grabbed 29 rebounds.
