Four Incoming Eagles Earn All-America Honors

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College Lacrosse team is pleased to announce that four of the members of the incoming class of 2013 have been named All-Americans by US Lacrosse.
Brooke Blue, Jessie Coffield and Ali Meagher were recently honored for their achievements on the playing field for their respective high school teams.
Blue was awarded with two team MVP awards, All-Gazette first team honors in 2009, and All-ISL honors in 2008 & 2009 while playing for the Stone Ridge School in Bethesda, Maryland.
Coffield was the selected recipient of the John Morrow Stanton Athletic Award and the Alexandria Sportsmen Club lacrosse player of the year. Additionally, her high school team won several ISL conference championships.
Meagher was named the Bow High School Junior Female Athlete of the Year in 2008. In addition, she was second team All-State (2007), first team All-State (2008) and Team MVP (2008).
According to the league, a USL All-American exhibits superior skills and techniques as well as possesses exceptional game sense and knowledge. She is considered one of the best players in the country while also embodying excellent sportsmanship.
The Eagles will also welcome Marissa Irwin to the team this season, a year after she was named a US Lacrosse Academic All-American for the second consecutive year.
According to the league, a USL Academic All-American exhibits exemplary lacrosse skills and excellent sportsmanship on the field while also representing high standards of academic achievement in the classroom. Additionally, she has left a mark by making significant contributions of service to the school or community.
