Student-Athletes Named To Academic All-ACC Golf Teams

Six members of the Boston College golf team, three men and three women, were named to the ACC All-Academic team for 2009 in their respective leagues, the ACC recently announced.
Kyle McCartan, Kevin Melnick and Jan Prokop were honored in the men's league.
This is the third year in a row that Jan Prokop has been selected for the team. Prokop, who captained the Eagles this past year, led the team with a +7 finish at the ACC Championships held at the Old North State Club in New London, N.C. this past spring.
In addition to McCartan, Melnick and Prokop, the ACC All-Academic team included: Ben Martin (Clemson), Clark Klaasen and Adam Long (Duke), David Dragoo, Cameron Tringale and James White (Georgia Tech), Brendan Tracy (Maryland), Patrick Barrett, Chase McFarland and Henry Zaytoun (North Carolina), Conrad Von Borsig and Bruce Woodall (Virginia), Drew Weaver (Virginia Tech) and Lee Bedford and Brendan Gielow (Wake Forest).
Stephanie Hu, Kelsey Rockey and Eunice Yim were selected from the women's side.
It is the second consecutive year that Kelsey Rockey has chosen to the All-Academic team. During the ACC Championship held in Greensboro, N.C., Rockey finished in 33rd place, tallying the team's best score during the final round of play. Eunice Yim held the top score for BC during the tournament, carrying a +29 for the Eagles.
Also joining Hu, Rockey and Kim on the team are: Amanda Blumenherst and Jennie Lee (Duke), Macarena Silva, Whitney Wenglasz and Caroline Westrup (Florida State), Alexis Holmes, Hilary Lawson and Lara Peffley (Maryland), Maria Ronderos (Miami), Sydney Crane, Kate Thomas and Allie White (North Carolina), Joanna Saleeby and Julie Saleeby (NC State), Kristen Simpson and Whitney Neuhauser (Virginia) and Nannette Hill and Natalie Sheary (Wake Forest).
In order to be considered for a place on the team, student-athletes must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his or her entire academic career at the school.
