Rowing Ends Season with Strong Showing at Eastern Sprints

Camden, NJ - The Boston College women's rowing team wrapped up the season by competing in the Eastern Sprints on the Cooper River in Camden, N.J. at the end of May. The Eagles competed in the Varsity 8, Third Varsity 4, Novice 4 and Novice 8 races.
The Varsity 8 placed fifth in its heat and fourth behind Navy, Rutgers and Georgetown with a time of 7:00.749. The team placed 16th overall in the competition.
The Third Varsity 4 placed fourth in its heat, followed by a sixth place finish in the Petite final with a time of 8:25.573. Syracuse won the event (7:52.733) followed by second place finisher Boston University (7:57.455). The Boston College Varsity 4 team placed 12th overall in the event.
The Eagles Novice 8 team placed fifth in the third preliminary heat (7:46.184) and then posted a first place finish in the third level final (7:31.690) in front of George Washington and URI. The BC Novice 8 team placed 13th overall in the event.
The Boston College Novice Four team placed fourth in the prelims and posted a sixth place in the second Novice Four Heat 1 (08:38.193). The Novice Four team posted the best overall finish for the Eagles in the competition at eight place.
