Pat Duquette, who has served on Al Skinner's staff since the head coach arrived at BC in the spring of 1997, has been promoted to associate head men's basketball coach, according to an announcement made by Skinner.
Duquette spent the last eight years as assistant coach on Skinner's staff after serving four years as the program's administrative assistant.
A native of Dalton, Mass., and a 1993 graduate of Williams College, Duquette came to Boston College after serving two years (1995-97) as assistant coach at St. Michael's College. Prior to that stint, Duquette was an assistant coach at Centenary College (1993-94) and St. Lawrence University (1994-95).
Duquette has played a key role in the Eagles' many accomplishments during Skinner's tenure. The Eagles have won 20 or more games in seven of the last nine years - and have gained NCAA Tournament berths in each of those seven seasons. BC won a school-record 28 games during the 2005-06 season, advancing the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16 that year.
Boston College's success has continued since joining the Atlantic Coast Conference (for the 2005-06 season). The Eagles have the third-highest ACC win total - behind only Duke and North Carolina - in the last four years (34 league wins).
