Four Lacrosse Players Earn IWLCA Regional Honors

Chestnut Hill, MA - The Boston College women's lacrosse team had four players - Kristin Igoe, Katie Monaghan, Margot Spatola and Emily Hannigan - named to the IWLCA Division 1 All-Regional team for 2009.
Igoe, Monaghan and Spatola were named to the Northeast Region first team, while Hannigan earned a spot on the second team.
Igoe started all 17 games for the Eagles in her sophomore year after redshirting as a freshman due to injury. A native of Framingham, Igoe compiled 49 points on 39 goals and 10 assists. She led the team in overall goals scored and in goals points and draw controls in conference play.
Monaghan, a senior, is the Eagles starting goalkeeper and led the ACC with the highest overall save percentage (.494). Monaghan, a native of Sherwood Forest, Md., was first in the ACC in saves per game (11.00) and second in save percentage (.466).
Spatola, a senior, started on defense for the Eagles. A native of Hingham, MA, played in all 18 games and had 40 ground balls this past season.
Hannigan, a senior defender, started all 18 games. A native of Needham, MA, had two goals and one assists this past season. She also had 35 ground balls.
