CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Eight Atlantic Coast Conference matches, including Friday-night home contests against Duke, Clemson, Wake Forest and Virginia Tech, highlight the 2009 Boston College men's soccer schedule.
The team will play 18 regular-season games - 10 matches on its home turf at the Newton Campus and eight on the road.
The Eagles open their season at Rhode Island on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
The home portion commences three days later against Bryant (Friday, Sept. 4) and continues with a Sept. 7 date against Harvard in the schools' first meeting since 2001.
BC will open its ACC schedule on Sept. 11 at Maryland, the defending NCAA champion.
Following its trip to College Park, Md., the team will host Fairfield (Sept. 15) before playing consecutive road games at Boston University (Sept. 18) and Hartford (Sept. 22).
The Eagles face Duke in their ACC home opener on Friday, Sept. 25 and conclude their September schedule against Siena on Sept. 29.
October's eight-match slate begins at NC State (Oct. 2), includes three straight home games - Yale (Oct. 6), Clemson (Oct. 9) and Quinnipiac (Oct. 13) - followed by three straight road trips - at 2008 College Cup participant North Carolina (Oct. 17), at Holy Cross (Oct. 21) and at Virginia (Oct. 25) - and concludes on Friday, Oct. 30 when the Eagles host 2008 national runner-up Wake Forest.
BC concludes the regular season at home against Virginia Tech on Friday, Nov. 6.
The ACC Tournament will be held from Tuesday, Oct. 10 through Sunday, Oct. 15 at the WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.
