Boston College rowing battled through a strong head wind of 15-20 mph this past Saturday, April 4, on the Charles River's 2000-meter course in Boston, Mass. The Eagles raced against Northeast rivals Dartmouth, Northeastern, and Rhode Island.
BC competed in four events - the Varsity Eight, second Varsity Eight, Varsity Four, and Novice Eight.
The Varisty Eight clocked in at 7:57.6. Dartmouth won the race in 7:38.7. BC's second Varsity Eight ran into issues when it popped an oar out of the oarlock in the first 200 meters and had to row by six until it could be replaced. The Eagles' Varsity Four finished in a time of 10:32.5 and the Novice Eight finished in 10:31.0.
The Eagles return to competition on Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 12, at the Knecht Cup on the Cooper River in Camden, N.J. The regatta will be hosted by Villanova University.
