Three Eagles Take Home Titles at Brown Invitational

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Three Eagles earned wins at the Brown Springtime Invitational on Sunday as senior Patrick Viklund, sophomore Ian Thomas and freshman Matt Adetula each took home top honors in their respective events.
Viklund won the gold in the 5000m by clocking in at 15:57.18 and Thomas took home the title in the 1500m with a time of 3:53.38. Freshman Matt Adetula had a strong day in Providence as he won the long jump by leaping 7.14m and then tied for fourth place in the triple jump with a mark of 13.10m.
Sophomore Philip Woerner placed fifth in the 1500m with a mark of 3:55.69 while senior Benjamin Kocarnik cleared 4.50m in the pole vault which put him in fourth place.
A pair of Eagles finished fourth and fifth in the 3000m in sophomore Michael Keebler and freshman John Shannon, respectively. Keebler finished with a time of 8:50.03 while Shannon clocked an 8:58.24.
The men will take a weekend off before competing in the New England Championships on May 8-9 in Amherst at the University of Massachusetts.
