Women's Rowing Finishes Fourth at ACC Championship

Boston College women's rowing competed in the ACC Championship on Monday, April 20, on Lake Melton in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
BC finished fourth overall, their best finish at the ACC Championship since joining the ACC Conference in the 2005-06 season. The Eagles were led by their Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Eight crews, which finished fourth, BC's highest finishes in the conference regatta.
Clemson captured its first-ever ACC rowing title with 55 points. Virginia, winner of the previous nine ACC championships, finished just one point behind the Tigers with 54 total points. Miami placed third with 34 points, followed by fourth-place Boston College with 23 points, Duke with 21, and North Carolina with 19.
BC's Varsity Eight crew raced to a fourth place finish in a time of 7:03.60. Clemson won the race in a time of 6:38.40.
In the Second Varsity Eight, BC's fourth place finish came in a time of 7:25.45. Virginia took first place in a time of 6:49.30.
The Eagles' Varsity Four raced to a sixth place finish in a time of 8:34.35 behind Miami (8:20.24).
Senior Tracy Maciolek was named to the All-ACC team for the second consecutive season. This year, she was joined on the all-conference team by senior teammate Laura Harvey.
