STANFORD, Calif. - The Boston College women's track and field team competed in the Stanford Invitational this weekend to open their spring season.
Junior Meaghan Callahan took ninth in the 400m dash at 56.99 while classmate Lauren Johnston finished eighth in the 5000m with a time of 16:53.48. That mark was just 1.48 off of the regional qualifying mark.
Freshman Kelsey Huckins tossed a 50.47m hammer throw which put her ninth. Classmate Anna Cioffredi finished sixth in her section of the 200m dash at 25.76 while junior Meaghan Callahan finished right behind her at 26.00.
Junior Teyahnie Boone took fifth in her section of the 200m with a time of 26.30 and freshman Rory Cellucci finished sixth at 26.46.
Junior Samantha Gawrych finished fifth in her section of the 800m with a time of 2:10.69 and sophomore Madeline Wallace also took fifth in her section at 2:11.66. Wallace also finished sixth in the 1500m with a mark of 4:33.00.
Freshman Kaitlyn Cooney finished third in her section of the 1500m with a time of 4:35.57. The 4x400m relay team finished sixth with a time of 3:51.08.
