Softball Falls, 5-0, to Boston University in Home Opener

The Boston College softball team (9-14, 0-0 ACC) fell, 5-0, to Boston University in its first game of the season at Shea Field.
BC starting pitcher Taylor Peyton (6-8), lasted 4 1/3 innings, allowing five runs (four earned), on five hits, while walking five batters and striking out four.
BU took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning on a home run by Nora Militz over the center field wall. The Terriers rallied for three more runs with three hits in the top of the third inning, and would tack on one more in the top of the fifth inning for a 5-0 lead.
The lead would stand for BU starting pitcher Cassidi Hardy (8-3), who held the Eagles to one hit, a single by Brittany Wilkins to lead off the game, in a complete game effort.
The Eagles will continue their homestand tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 pm, when they take on Connecticut at Shea Field.
