Sanchez sacrificed the runners over and reached base on a throwing error by the third baseman to load the bases.
Wiswall singled to left to plate the first run and then Belfiore drew a walk to force the second run home. Sanchez scored the third run on a fielder's choice for the first out of the inning and then senior Harry Darling plated the fourth run on a groundout to the right side.
The Bulldogs picked up a run in both the first and second innings to cut the lead in half, 4-2. Pat McKenna got the first run back in the bottom of the first with a leadoff home run to dead center and in the second, Mike DelPonte drove Vigurs home with a sac fly to left field after he reached third when a single he hit took a tough hop past the left fielder.
Boston College picked up a run in the top of the fourth to push the lead back to three. Redshirt freshman Andrew Lawrence got plunked in the leg and then sophomore Garret Smith sacrificed him into scoring position. With a 1-0 count on Anston who was the next batter, he singled up the middle for an RBI to put BC up 5-2.
Bryant scored three times in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game, 5-5. DelPonte singled up the middle to start the frame and after two outs were recorded, DelPonte still found himself on first. The Bulldogs tacked on another run in the sixth to take its first lead of the day. Jordan English walked and then DelPonte grounded to Zapenas at second to set up a double play, but the umpire called Smith off the bag at second and the throw was off at first, allowing English to get to third. Jamie Skagerling then laid down a successful suicide squeeze, giving Bryant a 6-5 lead.
McKenna led off the seventh inning for the Bulldogs and took a pitch opposite field for his second homer of the game to extend the lead to 7-5. Bryant added its eighth run of the game in the bottom of the eighth inning when DelPonte scored on a wild pitch.
