CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Junior Joe Trapani totaled 21 points and 10 rebounds and classmate Corey Raji registered 20 points and eight rebounds to lead Boston College to a 72-46 win over Bryant before 2,757 fans in Conte Forum.
Both Trapani and Raji shot 9-for-13 from the field.
After Bryant (0-11) scored the game's first basket, Raji hit back-to-back field goals to give BC the lead for good. Raji scored eight of BC's first 14 points.
BC led 10-6 before scoring 11 consecutive points to claim a 21-6 advantage with 8:54 left in the first half.
The host Eagles, which later enjoyed 7-0 and 8-0 runs, entered the half with a 38-16 margin.
BC (7-4) never allowed the Bulldogs to narrow the margin to fewer than 21 points in the second half.
Game Notes: BC made 30 field goals, marking the fourth time this season the Eagles have made 30 or more field goals in one game ... Trapani and Raji's 20-point efforts marked the first time two BC players had scored 20 or more points in one game since Trapani and Tyrese Rice did so against Duke on Feb. 15, 2009 ... Trapani's nine field goals were a career high ... Trapani matched his season high with 21 points ... Sophomore Reggie Jackson made his ninth start of the season (starting in place of Josh Southern) ... Trapani's double-double was his second this season and the eighth of his BC career ... Sophomore Dallas Elmore recorded six points and five rebounds in 17 minutes of action ... Sophomore Peter Rehnquist's lay-in with 25.4 seconds to play marked his first collegiate points ... BC finished the game with a plus-17 rebounding margin (43-26), marking the eighth time this season that BC has finished with a double-digit rebounding advantage (and its second-best margin of the season). BC was plus-25 vs. Miami on Dec. 6.
