Women's Rowing Competes in Head of the Charles

The Boston College women's rowing team continued its fall season this past weekend at the 45th Annual Head of the Charles Regatta. The historic regatta featured more than 8,500 athletes from all over the world competing in 55 different races. Rowers faced inclement weather conditions on Sunday that significantly affected their race times.
The Eagles entered boats in three events - Club Fours, Club Eights and Championship Eights.
On Saturday, October 17, BC raced in the Club Fours and Club Eights. BC's Club Four boat (Cox - Gina Perri; Stroke - Olivia Blain; Bow - Cara D'Arcy; 3 - Layne Petrie; 2 - Regina Hayburn) took 19th place in a time of 20:23.526.
In the Club Eights, the Eagles (Cox - Marlene O'Hara; Stroke - Brett Erickson; 7 - Kelly Williams; 6 - Brittany Bruder; 5 - Stephanie Seitz; 4 - Emily Charnowski; 3 Rosanne Burns; 2 - Erin Roche; Bow - Victoria Von Rinteln) captured 14th place with a time of 18:21.325.
On Sunday, October 18, BC placed 26th in the Championship Eights (Cox - Bridig Morrissey; Stroke - Liz Lobkowicz; 7 - Meg Carmody; 6 - Colleen Devlin; 5 - Tori Greco; 4 - Emily Ryan; 3 - Emily Hobbs; 2 - Laura Petty; Bow - Erin Flaherty) with a time of 18:22.979.
The Eagles return to competition on Saturday, November 14 at the Foot of the Charles Regatta on the Charles River in Boston, Mass.
