Charlie Davies, who played three years (2004-06) at Boston College before turning professional in Europe, is in stable condition following injuries sustained in a one-car accident on the George Washington Parkway early Tuesday morning in Northern Virginia. There was one fatality in the accident.

Davies is in Washington with the U.S. National Soccer Team as it prepares for its final World Cup qualifying match, scheduled for Wednesday against Costa Rica.

U.S. Soccer will release additional information when it becomes available.
