ATLANTA, Georgia - The Boston College volleyball team fell to Georgia Tech on Saturday night, dropping a 3-0 to the Yellow Jackets.
BC fell to 11-7 this season while the Georgia Tech moved to 12-5.
The Eagles got off to a rough start in the first set, notching only eight kills and dropping the opening frame, 25-16. BC improved drastically in the following set; however, improving the team's hitting percentage from .148 in the first to .214 in the second. Another eight kills were not enough however, and the Yellow Jackets won the second set, 25-20.
The Eagles put forth their best effort in the third frame, more than matching their total kills for the previous two sets and then adding one, to grab 17 for the third frame alone. Even though they raised their hitting percentage once more, the Eagles still could not fight off the Georgia attack and dropped the third frame, 25-23.
The Eagles were led on offense by senior Taylor Williams and sophomore Mollie Kolosky, who each had nine kills on the evening. Sophomore Brennan Clark's 12 digs were also best for the team on defense.
Boston College will return to Chestnut Hill next weekend to face Miami at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16.
