CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to Miami on Friday night in Chestnut Hill.
BC fell to 11-8 this season while Miami jumped to 11-7.
The night started out promising for the Eagles, as they were able to harness the crowd's energy and use it in their play. When the first break in the action came, BC had put forth 17 kills and a .220 hitting percentage to earn an impressive 26-24 first set win.
The good fortunes would not remain, however, and Miami surged back to take the second set 25-12. Looking to rebound, the Eagles kept the pressure on the Hurricanes, blasting 12 kills in the third set and 11 in the fourth.
Despite their best efforts, the Miami was still able to overcome the Eagles .194 hitting percentage in the third and .068 in the fourth to take the match, 3-1.
The Eagles were led on offense by senior Taylor Williams, who was able to amass an astounding total of 24 kills on the evening. Junior Kristen Baader and sophomore Brennan Clark helped keep the defense strong with 32 and 27 digs, respectively.
Boston College will return to the Power Gym on Sunday, Oct. 18, when they will square off against Florida State at 1:00 p.m.
