CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College turns its focus to the University of Rhode Island as the Rams visit Alumni Stadium on Saturday, September 27 for a 1:00 p.m. tilt. The Eagles and Rams have not met on the football field since 1917.
BC owns a 4-2 lead in the all-time series against URI, winning the last four contests. The Eagles are coming off of a 34-7 win against UCF to improve to 2-1 while Rhode Island dropped to 1-3 with a last-second loss to Hofstra.
"We're just trying to practice to our standards and that's really what you have to do," senior tight end Ryan Purvis said about preparing for the Rams. "We don't want to do anything different. We just want to practice hard, get better, and then go play the game."
BC is coming off of a 31-point performance in the second half last Saturday against the Knights after being down 7-3 at the half. Senior wide receiver Brandon Robinson accounted for one of the second half touchdowns with a 48-yard reception.
"We didn't really say anything negative (at halftime)," he said. "We were still in the game and we were getting the ball after the half. We were marching down the field but we realized we had to finish the drives and put it in the end zone. Nobody was afraid or scared that anything bad was going to happen. We just had to keep playing and plugging away."
The 31 points that the BC offense scored was more than the Eagles had scored in an entire game this season. Boston College had managed just 37 points in its previous two games combined with a 21-0 win vs. Kent State and a 19-16 loss against Georgia Tech.
