Volleyball Falls 3-0 to Hofstra at Yale Invitational

New Haven, CT - Boston College could not match the attack of the Hofstra Pride in its second game of the Yale Invitational, falling 25-22, 25-13, and 25-23 at the John J. Lee Amphitheatre.
With the loss the Eagles fell to 3-5, while the Pride improved to 4-4.
In the first set, BC overcame a nine point deficit, rallying to tie the set at 17 after a kill, and two service aces, all by Jordan Meredith. After the teams traded points, Hofstra closed out the set with two consecutive kills.
The Eagles struggled on the attack in the second set, registering seven kills to Hofstra's 18. The Pride rushed out to a 5-0 lead and expanded on the margin throughout the set.
The third set was more evenly contested, with 12 ties and five lead changes. The set was tied at 23 when Hofstra rallied for two straight points to close out the match.
Leading the Eagles' attack was Meredith, who registered nine kills to go along with 10 digs. Brittany Pierpont added 22 assists and eight digs, and Brennan Clark had 14 digs.
BC will take on Colgate at 5:00 pm in the John J. Lee Amphitheatre to close out the Yale Invitational.
