
Volleyball defeats local rival Harvard

In its home opener, Boston College defeated Harvard 3-1, staving off four set points in the final set to rally for the victory at Power Gym.
With the win, the Eagles improved to 5-5, while the Crimson fell to 1-4 on the season.
On Harvard's final set point of the fourth set, Mollie Kolosky's kill evened the score at 27-27. Tori Thompson broke the deadlock with another kill to give the Eagles their first match point. Brennan Clark then closed the match with a service ace.
In what was a tightly contested match, the Eagles dropped the first set when Harvard rallied with four consecutive points for a 25-23 win.
With the Eagles leading 23-22 in the second set, Harvard called timeout. BC was able to hold onto its lead when Taylor Williams registered two kills in the following three points to close out the set.
In the third set, the Eagles again led 23-22 when Jordan Meredith came up with two kills in the following three points to give BC the lead. The Eagles then closed out the match at 29-27 in the fourth set.
Leading the way for BC was freshman Jordan Meredith, who had a career-high 25 kills in the match. Dani Moskitis contributed 32 assists to improve her team-leading total to 208 on the season. Brennan Clark had 18 digs, and Tori Thompson registered four blocks for BC.
The Eagles will take on another local team when they travel to Northeastern on Sept. 20 at 1:00 pm, to face the Huskies in the Mass Challenge.
