CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College football team again worked under dark skies and precipitation on the fourth day of its preseason camp at Alumni Stadium. It was the second day for the team in shells in preparation for the first full pads practice of the season on Friday.
Sophomore offensive tackle Anthony Castonzo discussed the progress of the offensive line prior to practice today.
"I think we're looking good," he said. "We're shaping up pretty well. We have guys who know the scheme from last year so we're definitely ahead of where we were at this point last year. We just have to sure up a couple of technical things and I think we'll be alright."
The line returns three starters from last year's unit with Castonzo, senior Clif Ramsey, and junior Matt Tennant.
The BC offensive line allowed the fewest sacks in the ACC in 2007 with a 1.57 per game average.
Castonzo also discussed the leadership of assistant head coach Jack Bicknell, Jr. who guides the offensive line.
"He is very intense," Castonzo said. "He definitely wants us to have a nastiness about us on the offensive line. He's pushing us hard so he is getting really intense as camp progresses. He is trying to filter that down to the line."
NOTES:
- With the problematic weather in New England over the last week, bceagles.com decided to check out the weather situations all over the ACC. It turns out that all 12 programs had rain in the forecast on Thursday.
The one glaring difference is the temperature as Chestnut Hill came in at a comfortable 72 degrees while the average of the 11 other schools was 89.5 degrees. However, the average for the "feels like" temperature came in at a blistering 94 degrees.
