Boston College senior Alejandro Bedoya has earned preseason All-America first-team honors from two news outlets -- College Soccer News and Soccer America.
Bedoya was a first-team All-America choice from both publications -- and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America -- last fall.
He, along with goalkeeper Chris Brown and midfielder Mike Konicoff, will serve as BC team captains in 2008.
The Weston, Fla., resident registered 26 points -- eight goals and 10 assists -- in 21 games in 2007. Bedoya was one of 15 semifinalists for the Missouri Athletic Club's 2007 Hermann Trophy.
Bedoya also earned Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Year and All-Conference first-team recognition in 2007.
Boston College begins its season on Friday, Aug. 29 at home against Boston University. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
