HANOVER, N.H. - Boston College (21-24) scored six times in the top of the second inning and held on defeat Dartmouth (24-15), 8-5, at Red Rolfe Field on Wednesday afternoon.
BC tallied 12 hits against the Big Green pitching staff, including four players with multi-hit contests. Michael Belfiore and Tony Sanchez each collected two hits and a RBI, while Garret Smith went 2-for-4 with a solo homer, and Mickey Wiswall registered two singles and two RBIs on the day.
Ted Ratliff (2-1) worked the first five innings and allowed one earned run on five hits with seven punch outs to earn the win.
John Leonard tossed a scoreless sixth with a pair of strikeouts. Chris Kowalski bridged the gap to Belfiore in the ninth. Kowalski worked 1.2 innings, while Belfiore tossed the ninth to earn his sixth save of the year.
The Eagles made the second inning count as they pushed across six runs in the frame. Eric Campbell hit a two-run double and Smith connected for a homer to highlight the inning.
BC will host ACC foe Maryland on Friday at Commander Shea Field in Chestnut Hill, Mass. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
