Boston College Places Sixth at ACC Championship

Boston College women's rowing concluded its conference schedule on Saturday when it raced in the ACC Championship on Lake Hartwell in Clemson, S.C. The Eagles finished sixth overall while junior Tracy Maciolek was selected to the All-ACC team.
Virginia captured its ninth consecutive ACC Championship by winning three of the four events. The Cavaliers totaled 59 points, placing them eight points ahead of runner-up Clemson University.
In the varsity eight, the Eagles placed sixth with a time of 6 minutes, 48.6 seconds. This marked BC's fastest time of the season in the varsity eight. Virginia won the race in 6:22.0.
Boston College placed fifth in the second varsity eight event, recording a time of 7:03.1. The Cavaliers took first place in 6:31.4.
The Eagles placed sixth in the varsity four race in 8:13.3. Virginia captured the victory in 7:18.6.
Duke University finished third overall with 33 points, followed by University of North Carolina with 28, and University of Miami with 24 points. Boston College tallied 12 points at the regatta.
Maciolek, a Howell, N.J native, earned yet another ACC accolade. Last year, she was named to All-ACC Academic Rowing Team and earned Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) National Scholar Athlete honors.
The Eagles return home to compete in the rowing Beanpot on Boston's Charles River on May 3.
