Baseball Drops Doubleheader to No. 17 Georgia Tech

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College was swept in a doubleheader by No. 17 Georgia Tech on a bitter cold Saturday afternoon at Commander Shea Field. The Yellow Jackets took game one, 5-2, and won the second game, 13-2. Tech improved to 21-5 overall this season, with a 6-4 ACC record. BC is now 11-13 overall, with a 2-9 ACC record.
Game 1 - Georgia Tech 5, Boston College 2
Georgia Tech starter David Duncan held the Eagles to four hits over eight innings as BC dropped the game, 5-2.
Marc Perdios went 2-for-3 at the plate and also drove in a run to lead the BC offense. Tony Sanchez added solo home run, his fifth of the season, to left field in the seventh inning.
Terry Doyle was saddled with the loss. The senior tossed six innings and allowed five earned runs with four strikeouts. Nick Asselin fired three perfect innings out of the BC bullpen and collected six strikeouts.
Game 2 - Georgia Tech 13, Boston College 2
The Eagles and Yellow Jackets had the score knotted at two runs a piece through the first six innings before Georgia Tech scored seven runs in the top of the seventh inning to win, 13-2.
Right-hander starter Dan Houston pitched six innings and did not figure in the decision. The junior allowed one earned run on five hits with seven strikeouts.
Michael Belfiore was the main bright spot for the Eagles offense. The first baseman went 2-for-4 with his second home run of the season.
Brad Feltes went 2-for-4 with two homers and seven RBIs to lead the Yellow Jackets to sweep the Eagles.
The final game of the three-game series between BC and Georgia Tech is tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Commander Shea Field in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
