Boston College Opens Spring Season at Jesuit Invitational

The Boston College women's rowing team began its spring season at the Jesuit Invitational on Cooper River in Camden, N.J. on Saturday.
The Eagles placed third in the Varsity 8 and fourth in the Varsity 4. BC placed third in both the Freshmen 8 and the Freshmen 4.
In the Varsity 8, the Eagles finished third in 7 minutes, 2.12 seconds, 13.94 seconds behind first-place finisher St. Joseph's.
The Eagles' Varsity 4 boat placed fourth with a time of 8:39.9. Georgetown took first in 8:08.12.
BC's Freshmen 8 boat finished the course in 7:45.39, good for third place. St. Joseph's won the race in 7:15.95.
The Eagles also placed third in the Freshmen 4, finishing with a time of 8:59.35. St. Joseph's won its fourth race of the day, finishing in 8:52.8.
Assistant coach Mac Cannady said the crew is looking forward to the Spring season. "We just got back from our week of training in South Carolina and are excited to be back on the water after spending the winter months indoors."
Boston College returns to action on Saturday, March 29, when it races Syracuse University and Boston University in Syracuse, N.Y.
