Softball Drops Last Game Of FGCU Tournament

Fort Myers, Fla. - The Boston College softball team (5-5, 0-0 ACC) was unable to keep their winning streak alive as they dropped their final game of the FGCU tournament to host Florida Gulf Coast (12-5) by a score of 8-0.
FGCU jumped out to an early lead, getting three runs in the first two innings. Pitcher Morgan Campen (2-1) pitched a complete game, allowing two BC hits. Sophomore Blair Destito and senior captain Carley McNary earned their third and fourth hits of the season, respectively.
Sophomore Taylor Peyton (3-2) started for the Eagles, pitching a little over five innings. She allowed four runs on seven hits, striking out three.
The Eagles placed second overall in the tournament with a 3-2 record over the weekend. Senior Amanda Booth, Peyton and sophomore Amy Tunstall were all named to the FGCU Tournament Team.
