Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College lacrosse team begins the 2008 season with an ACC matchup against Maryland on Sunday, Feb. 24 at 1 p.m. However, the team will not be taking to its usual home field in Newton, Mass. Instead, the Eagles will be playing their home games at off-campus sites as the Newton Campus Field is being remodeled. Locations can be found below.
The Eagles have faced the nine-time national champions Maryland three times without notching a win, but are hoping to challenge them at the start of the season. BC ended last year's campaign 1-4 in the strong conference and 6-11 overall. The Eagles faced eight national ranked teams and are scheduled to play six top-20 teams this season.
Head Coach Bowen Holden brings back an experienced core as she has 15 returning letterwinners, of which eight are returning starters. She also welcomes eight newcomers. Her incoming class was ranked eighth in the nation by Inside Lacrosse Magazine.
