
Women's Basketball Soars Over Wildcats, 85-43

Every member of the Boston College women's basketball team (6-2) scored in a non-conference win over New Hampshire (1-6), topping the Wildcats, 85-43, at Conte Forum.
Sophomore Carolyn Swords' notched her third double-double of the season and eighth of her career, lifting the Eagles with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Fellow sophomore Jaclyn Thoman and senior captain Brittanny Johnson followed with 11 points apiece. Thoman added a team-high four assists and Johnson led the team with six steals, a career-high. New Hampshire junior Candace Williams scored 10 of her 13 points in the second half to lead her team.
BC went into halftime with a 38-22 advantage, shooting 49 percent from the field. They had their largest lead of 20 points with 2:19 in the half. Swords tallied 13 points and added eight rebounds to spark the offensive and defensive effort. Juniors Amy Simpson and Chrissy Hall combined for 10 points, scoring five points apiece to lead New Hampshire.
The Eagles were hot early on and never cooled off, opening the game on a 10-2 run. They held their largest margin of 42 points with just one second left in the game. BC out-scored New Hampshire by 34 points in the paint (50-16) and out-rebounded the Wildcats 53-25 while causing a total of 26 turnovers.
BC will play in its second-consecutive home game Sunday, December 14, taking on Florida International. The game will begin at 4 p.m. at Conte Forum.
