Boston College men's basketball will host New England rival Providence on Saturday, Dec. 20. Game time is 4 p.m. in Conte Forum.
The game will mark the 103rd all-time meeting between the two schools. Providence holds a 57-45 advantage in the series. The Friars have won each of the last two meetings, including a wild 98-89 overtime win in Boston's TD Banknorth Garden last season (Dec. 1, 2007). BC had won the teams' last three games as conference rivals before the Friars snapped the streak with a 73-64 home win on Nov. 22, 2006.
Boston College enters the game with an 8-2 record. The Eagles defeated USC Upstate, 67-55, in their most recent contest (Dec. 14).
Providence enters with a 7-3 record. The Friars downed Jackson State, 85-71, in their last game (Dec. 17).
The game will be televised by the New England Sports Network (NESN). Don Orsillo and Frank Sullivan will call the action. The game can also be heard on the BC/ISP Radio Network with Ted Sarandis and Bill Ebben sharing the mike.
