Chris Brown, Paul Gerstenberger To Participate In 2009 MLS Combine

Boston College goalkeeper Chris Brown and fullback Paul Gerstenberger are among the 65 collegiate seniors invited to participate in the 2009 adidas MLS Player Combine, held Jan. 9-13, 2009, in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
Brown was a 2008 All-Atlantic Coast Conference first-team honoree who played in and started all 21 games in the BC net. Brown registered a 10-8-3 record, a 0.90 goals against average, a .692 save percentage and six shutouts this season. He garnered All-Tournament accolades at the ACC Championship in Cary, N.C.
The 6-foot-5-inch, 225-pound goalkeeper has a 29-16-6 record over the last three seasons, including a 13-6-2 mark in ACC regular-season play.
Gerstenberger played in 19 games at left fullback in his senior season and recorded two assists. A native of Schenectady, N.Y., he played in 66 games during his four-year career and totaled 18 points - four goals and 10 assists. Gerstenberger earned All-Tournament honors at the 2007 ACC Championship after he notched one goal and one assist in leading the Eagles to the tournament title.
The coaching and management staffs of all 15 MLS teams will be in attendance to scout talent at the 2009 adidas MLS Player Combine, which concludes two days before the 2009 MLS SuperDraft. At the 2008 MLS SuperDraft 43 of the 56 players drafted participated in the 2008 adidas MLS Player Combine; 12 combine players were selected in the first round. The 2009 MLS SuperDraft will be held on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009 in St. Louis, Mo.
The 2009 adidas MLS Player Combine will separate players into four teams and feature two games per day at Lockhart Stadium on Jan. 10, 11 and 13.
