Women's Cross Country Concludes Season At NCAA Championships

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Boston College women's cross country team finished 27th at the NCAA Cross Country Championships hosted by Indiana State on November 24. Senior Nichole Lister led all BC runners with an 84th place finish and a time of 21:16 in the 6k race that was run on the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center.
Washington ran away with the team championship with 79 points while Oregon and Florida State rounded out the top three with 131 and 163 points, respectively. Texas Tech's Sally Kipyego took the individual crown for the second-straight season with a time of 19:29. Boston College finished with 651 points.
Junior Brielle Chabot placed second for the Eagles and 116th overall with a time of 21:35. Senior Mallory Champa finished right behind her with a time of 21:37 which put her in 118th.
Junior Jessica Driscoll crossed the finish line in 21:59 which was good enough for 165th and sophomore Caroline King placed 168th, clocking in at 22:00 flat.
Junior Lauren Johnston followed King with a time of 22:06 and finished 174th while graduate student Mary Heitkamp recorded a time of 22:41 for 200th place.
This was the fourth-straight season that Boston College competed at the NCAA Championships. BC earned an at-large bid to the race after a third place finish at the Northeast Regional Championships.
