GREENSBORO, N.C. - Junior free safety Marcellus Bowman was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Defensive Back of the Week after his performance in Boston College's 27-17 upset win at Florida State on Saturday. Bowman returned an interception 87 yards for the first touchdown of his career.
Bowman's interception return came in the first quarter to put the Eagles up 14-0 with 1:04 left. It was BC's third interception return for a touchdown of the season and marked the fifth consecutive game in which Boston College defense or special teams have scored a touchdown.
Bowman also recorded a sack for a nine-yard loss in the second quarter to help hold the Seminoles to a field goal. The Girard, Ohio native finished the game with four tackles.
Bowman is second on the team with three interceptions and leads BC with 157 return yards. His other two interception returns were 31 yards against UCF and 39 versus Rhode Island.
