Boston College junior midfielder Alejandro Bedoya shared Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week honors with Wake Forest's Cody Arnoux, according to a league announcement made on Monday.
Bedoya was involved in six of the 10 BC goals scored in two victories last week - an 8-0 home win over Maine on Wednesday and a 2-1 overtime victory at North Carolina on Saturday.
The Weston, Fla., native totaled five points - one goal and three assists - against Maine. He then scored the game-tying goal with just more than three minutes remaining in regulation and assisted on Mike Konicoff's game-winning score just 37 seconds into the overtime period to lead then-13th-ranked BC to a 2-1 ACC win over the Tar Heels.
Through six games this season, Bedoya leads the ACC in points with 13. He also ranks first among all league players in assists (seven), assists per game (1.17) and points per game (2.17).
Boston College is 5-1-0 and 2-0-0 in conference action. The Eagles have won each of their last four games and are ranked No. 6 in the latest Soccer America poll, jumping seven spots from the previous week.
BC will play its next two matches at the Newton Campus Field. The Eagles will host Yale in non-conference action on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 4 p.m. Following Wednesday's match, the team returns to league play against North Carolina State on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 1 p.m. A video broadcast of both games will be available over the internet at accselect.com.
