Eagles Compete in First-Ever Rowing Beanpot

Boston College's women's rowing team faced off with regional rivals on Saturday, April 28 at the first-ever rowing Beanpot event on the Charles River in Boston. The Eagles placed fourth in four out of five events, with the top finish coming from the second varsity four boat that finished in third place.
The Boston-area schools competing in the event were Radcliffe College, Northeastern University, Boston University, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The top three finishers were Radcliffe, Northeastern, and BU in the same order in the varsity eight, second varsity eight, novice eight, and varsity four races.
The Eagles came close to unseating the Terriers for the third spot in the varsity eight race. BU finished in 6:53.5, the Eagles were .4 seconds behind.
In the second varsity four race, BU finished in 7:47.1, Radcliffe was next with a time of 7:49.7, and BC came in third with a 8:26.1 finish.
The Eagles will close out the season on May 13 at the Eastern Sprints in Camden, N.J.
