Ryan Throws For 233 Yards In Spring Game

Senior quarterback Matt Ryan completed 19-of-33 passes for 233 yards and a touchdown, a 59-yard bomb to sophomore Clarence Megwa in the opening moments, at Boston College's annual Jay McGillis Memorial Spring Game Saturday in Alumni Stadium.
Junior quarterback Chris Crane also took snaps for the Eagles, completing 8-of-12 passes for 108 yards. Senior running back Andre Callender led all players in rushing, gaining 67 yards on 18 carries. Fellow senior L.V. Whitworth carried the ball 13 times for 29 yards, while sophomore Jeff Smith also picked up 29 yards (on 17 carries).
Megwa was the team's leading receiver. Junior place-kicker Steve Aponavicius connected on field goals from 35 and 24 yards.
Defensively, the Eagles were led by senior Jamie Silva with nine tackles (eight solos) and sophomore Alex Albright (seven solos, two assists). Junior linebacker Robert Francois and senior defensive tackle B.J. Raji each registered seven tackles.
Saturday's game marked the end of spring drills for the Eagles under new Head Coach Jeff Jagodzinski.
