Football Elects 2007 Captains

The Boston College football team has elected captains for the 2007 season. They are:
Quarterback Matt Ryan (6-5, 221, Sr., Exton, PA) - One of last year's captains, Ryan received All-ACC first-team honors last season and has recorded a 14-4 mark in 18 career starts (9-3 in 2006). He is fifth all-time in BC passing yards and fourth in pass completions.
Linebacker Jolonn Dunbar (6-1, 234, Sr., Syracuse, NY) - One of last year's captains (along with Ryan and graduated senior Josh Beekman), Dunbar tied an NCAA Division I-A record in last year's Maryland game after returning two fumble recoveries for touchdowns. He was subsequently named National Defensive Player of the Week.
Offensive tackle Gosder Cherilus (6-7, 320, Sr., Somerville, MA) - The senior has started 37 consecutive games for the Eagles and will anchor this year's offensive line.
Defensive end Nick Larkin (6-4, 252, Sr., Cincinnati, OH) - Larkin has started 25 consecutive games for the Eagles. Last season, he notched 33 tackles, including 17 unassisted stops.
Boston College's annual Jay McGillis Spring Football Game will kick off at 1 p.m. Saturday in Alumni Stadium. Admission is free.
