WEYMOUTH, Mass. - Just two days after facing eighth-ranked Clemson, women's tennis took on seventh-ranked Georgia Tech this morning and dropped a 7-0 decision to the Yellow Jackets. The loss is the Eagles' second in a row and drops their record to 4-7 overall and 0-3 in conference play. Georgia Tech improves to 9-3 overall and 2-0 in ACC action.
Georgia Tech had no trouble with the Eagles as they swept the doubles play. In the number one flight, the tandem of Alison Silverio and Amanda Craddock started things off for the Yellow Jackets as they defeated Dasha Cherkasov and Alina Sullivan, 8-2. BC's second and third doubles tandems followed suit as they dropped 8-3 and 8-4 decisions respectively.
On the singles side, sophomore Lana Krasnopolsky had her hands full as she took on the nation's seventh-ranked player Kristi Miller, and dropped a straight set, 6-2, 6-1 decision. Georgia Tech would not drop a set in singles as they swept all six singles matches. Sophomore Alina Sullivan fought hard against 23rd-ranked Kirsten Flower, but dropped a 6-3, 6-3 decision at the number three position.
The Eagles next return to action on Friday, March 23 when they take on No. 21 Duke University at the Weymouth Club in Weymouth, Mass at 7:00 p.m.
