Chestnut Hill, Mass. - After beating Jackson State 11-3 in their season-opener, the Eagles softball squad lost 10-5 to Nicholls State University over the weekend.
BC got off to a good start, posting a run in the top of the first. Unfortunately, NSU countered with a seven-spot in the bottom of the inning. Nicholls State got home runs from two of their first three batters, and the rout was on.
BC came back with three runs in the top of the second, but Nicholls State counterpunched once again, with one in the second and two in the third. The Eagles added a run in the sixth for the 10-5 final.
Offensively, the Eagles received solid production from Freshman Second Baseman Blair Destito (2-4, 2 RBIs), Freshman DH Amy Tunstall (2-4), and Junior Outfielder Carley McNary (2-3, RBI).
The Eagles play next on March 6th, when they kick off their tour of Hawaii against The University of Hawaii.
