Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Three softball standouts signed national letters of intent to attend Boston College for the 2008-09 softball season, announced Head Coach Jen Finley this week.
The Eagles signed Brittany Wilkins, a catcher from Suffolk, Va., Morgan Kidd, a pitcher from Peachtree City, Ga. and Ali Lynette-Krech, a third base/utility player from Toronto, Canada.
"We are very excited about our recruiting class," Finley said. "They are a very talented group who should make an impact on our program right away."
Kidd attends McIntosh High School and plays for the Georgia Elite travel team. She was named varsity MVP for her high school team in 2004 and 2005 and has recorded over 600 career strikeouts.
Wilkins attends Nansemond Suffolk Academy and plays for the Virginia Legends travel team. She has started at catcher for Nansemond since entering high school and garnered First-Team All-Conference and MVP awards her freshman and sophomore years.
Lynette-Krech attends Woburn Collegiate Institute and plays for the Whitby Eagles travel team. She earned All-Star Third Base honors at the Canadian Nationals in 2004 and 2006 and earned MVP awards at the Provincial Grand Championship in 2006.
The 2007 softball season kicks off in February when the team travels to Greenville, N.C., to participate in the Eastern Carolina Tournament.
