Jagodzinski, Ryan Semifinalists For National Awards

Boston College quarterback Matt Ryan has been named a semifinalist for the 71st Maxwell Award for Collegiate Player of the Year while Coach Jeff Jagodzinski has been named a semifinalist for the 19th George Munger Award for College Coach of the Year. The lists were announced Wednesday by Ron Jaworski, president of the Maxwell Football Club. The respective lists include a field of fifteen candidates for each of these awards as selected by the Maxwell Football Club Advisory Committee.
The announcement of the winners of the Maxwell Award will be made during the Home Depot College Football Awards Show that will be broadcast on ESPN on Thursday December 6, 2007. Three finalists will be in attendance for the ESPN broadcast. The Maxwell Football Club will announce the winner of the 19th George Munger Award via a press release in December.
In addition to Ryan, semifinalists for the Maxwell Award include QB Brian Brohm, Louisville; WR Michael Crabtree, Texas Tech; QB Chase Daniel, Missouri; QB Dennis Dixon, Oregon; RB Matt Forte, Tulane; RB Mike Hart, Michigan; RB Darren McFadden, Arkansas; RB Rashard Mendenhall, Illinois; RB Ray Rice, Rutgers; RB Steve Slaton, West Virginia; RB Jonathan Stewart, Oregon; QB Tim Tebow, Florida; QB Pat White, West Virginia, and QB Andre Woodson, Kentucky.
In addition to Jagodzinski, semifinalists for the George Munger Award include Mike Bellotti, Oregon; Bret Bielema, Wisconsin; Randy Edsall, UConn; Dennis Erickson, Arizona State; Jim Leavitt, South Florida; Mark Mangino, Kansas; Les Miles, LSU; Chris Peterson, Boise State; Gary Pinkel, Missouri; Mark Richt, Georgia; Rich Rodriguez, West Virginia; Nick Saban, Alabama; Bob Stoops, Oklahoma, and Jim Tressel, Ohio State.
