Women's Soccer Suffers 3-0 Loss to Virginia Tech

The Boston College women's soccer team fell to Virginia Tech, 3-0, in the final regular season match for both teams. BC is now 11-4-3 overall and 4-4-2 in the ACC. Virginia Tech is now 8-7-3 and 3-5-2 in the ACC.
The Eagles were coming off three straight victories, including a 2-0 victory over Maryland on Thursday night in College Park. It is the Eagles first loss to the Hokies in six games. Boston College is now projected to be the sixth seed in the ACC Tournament which will begin on Wednesday, Nov. 7 at the Disney Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida.
Boston College went down quickly as the Hokies scored two goals in the first seven minutes of play. Ashley Kinser scored at 2:13 followed by her second of the day at 6:59 of the game. Virginia Tech went up 3-0 at 55:58 on a goal by Julian Johnson.
The Eagles only had four shots in the first half but the offense came back strong in the second half with 10 shots. Boston College gave up 12 shots, only three in the second half. Both team had two corner kicks in the match.
Boston College back up goalkeeper Mae Shamir played in her second straight ACC game and recorded four saves. She is now 2-1-0 on the season. Virginia Tech goalkeeper Ashley Owens had five saves in the match.
