Chestnut Hill, Mass - No. 12 Boston College plays its last home game of the season against Harvard on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. The Eagles are 5-3 at home and 9-2 against non-conference opponents. Harvard's record stands at 7-4 and it is 3-2 on the road. They are 3-4 in non-conference play.
BC leads the all-time series against the Crimson, 12-8 and has won the last three matchups. In the 2006 meeting, junior forward Bob Dirks notched two of the four goals in the 4-0 victory. Both goals came off corner opportunities. Junior midfielder Katie Quaglia recorded assists on both of the corner goals and senior forward Crystal Frates picked up an assist on one of the scores as well. Frates also knocked in a goal of her own.
Dirks and Frates are also nearing the top of the BC record book for all-time points and goals. Dirks has the chance to tie or break the records during Wednesday's contest. She has 98 career points and 41 goals and the record stands at 100 points and 42 goals. Frates has 84 points and 38 goals.
At the beginning of the Harvard-Boston College matchup, the Eagles will be donating $500 to the Central New England Chapter of the MS Society.
The Eagles will be donating their time and energy to raising money for the cause. In April, members of the BC program will be walking in the MS Life Lines Walk to contribute to the National MS Society. The walk begins at Harvard University Athletic Complex.
Fans will be able to purchase red MS bracelets to aid in the fundraising effort at Wednesday's game and at the ACC Tournament, which will be hosted by Boston College. BC will also be handing out give-aways at the game.
