Duke midfielder Michael Videira scored in the 77th minute to snap a scoreless tie as Boston College fell to the fourth-ranked Blue Devils, 1-0, at in Durham, N.C.
Boston College, which out shot Duke in the match, 13-12, falls to 4-4-0 and 1-2-0 in conference play.
Both teams placed six shots on goals, and Duke held a 5-3 edge on corner kicks for the game.
Zach Pope fired a corner kick into the box which ricocheted off Boston College's goalkeeper Issey Maholo (five saves). Videira fired the ball back into the net from point blank range and Maholo was unable to save the ball before it crossed the goal line.
Duke improves to 7-1-1 and 2-1-1 in ACC action.
Next, Boston College travels to Hamden, Conn., for a non-conferernce game against Quinnipiac on Tuesday, Sept. 26. Game time is 4 p.m.
