Towson, Md. - The Boston College men's golf captured the Towson Invitational on September 19 with a score of 577, +1 for the tournament. The Eagles placed first among thirteen schools at the meet for their first tournament victory of the season. Boston College was led by freshman Jan Prokop who placed second overall, but had a tournament best round of 67. Prokop finished -4 with a score of 140, and was just one shot behind Towson's Jeff Castle for first place.
Juniors Alex Snickenberger and Bob Reed tied for fourth, shooting 143, for -1. Junior Jim Granello tied for 31st overall with a score of 151, and senior Kyle Kelly was 37th, shooting 152. Par for the course was 144 over the two rounds.
The next tournament for the Boston College men's golf team will be October 2 and 3 at the Joe Agee Invitational in Williamsburg, Va.
