Volleyball Loses To Seton Hall

Kingston, R.I.. - In their second match of the Rhode Island Volleyball Classic, the Eagles dropped a tough 3-0 decision to the Pirates of Seton Hall today at Keaney Gymnasium.
Despite the score, the Eagles pushed the Pirates the entire match. In the first game, BC got out to an early 11-7 lead. The two teams were tied at 14 before Seton Hall would win five out of the next six points to increase their lead to 19-15. The Eagles tied the score late in the game at 27-27 but the Pirates would hold on for a 30-28 win.
After dropping the second game 30-22, the Eagles and Pirates see sawed back and forth in game three exchanging leads. After a kill by junior Kelsey Johnson, BC led 29-27 and was serving for the game. But, Seton Hall was able to win four consecutive points, ending the Eagles threat of a comeback.
Seton Hall freshman Allie Matters led the offensive attack with 14 kills while sophomore setter Brittany Rahrer registered a game high 44 assists. Kelsey Johnson had 12 kills for the Eagles and sophomore Brittany Pierpont added another 35 assists.
The Eagles will look to get a win when they play their final game of the Rams Volleyball Classic this evening at 6:00 p.m. against the University of Rhode Island in Keaney Gymnasium.
