
Jennifer Finley, Kristin Allain Help Riptide Win Cowles Cup

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Former Boston College third baseman Kristin Allain and current head coach Jennifer Finley helped lead the New England Riptide to the 2006 NPF Championship. The Riptide defeated the Connecticut Brakettes 2-0. The Riptide won the Cowles Cup with the help of former player Kristin Allain, a 2006 Boston College graduate, who contributed six runs and two hits in limited playing time. Boston College head coach Jennifer Finley serves as an assistant coach for the Riptide.
Jennifer Finley has been the head coach of Boston College softball for 11 seasons, and has a record of 316-241-1 at BC. In 13 years as a head coach, Finley has amassed a career record of 392-278-1, averaging 30 wins per season. The 1998 Big East Coach of the Year, she has led the Eagles to two conference tournament championships (1997 and 1998) and one regular season championship in 2003.
While at Boston College, Kristin Allain started all 48 games of her senior year, and was a defensive specialist, registering 56 put outs and 98 assists. Allain also batted .250 in 2006, and contributed three home runs and 11 RBI.
